Mica is formed in thin sheet like structures, these sheets are stuck together. It is mainly composed of silicate minerals like potassium, aluminum, magnesium, iron and water which are present in Mica in varying quantities. When Mica is scraped coarsely it forms flakes. The flaky form of Mica is used in numerous items.

Mica Flakes have numerous uses like:-

  • Paints – Mica Flakes are used in paints to increase and brighten the pigments of the paint.
  • Electrical Industry – It also acts as a thermal insulator in electrical industry. While, it is also used is an electric insulator in electrical equipment.
  • Toothpaste and cosmetics- The shiny and glittery mica flakes are used in toothpaste and cosmetics.
