About Mica powder : Mica is a natural mineral which is composed of different ratios of potassium, aluminum, iron, water and magnesium. Mica occurs naturally and is silicate minerals collection based. It is formed in thin plate or sheet like structures, with composition of different minerals and their collective properties. Mica retains it's elasticity and toughness even at high temperatures, which is why, Mica is best to be used in conditions with extreme humidity and temperatures. The mineral Mica has an absorption range of 2%-5%. It's refractive index is average with a visible spectrum of 1.6. It had the property to withstand and resist all chemicals, alkalis, gasses, oils and acids.
As Mica is composed of different minerals, it is loaded with a large number of properties.
- Physical – Mica can split into thin sheets along it's cleavage. It is translucent and the separated sheets are colorless.
- Chemical – Mica is composed of different minerals like iron, magnesium, potassium, lithium, sodium fluorine, and other elements. It is resistant to chemicals, alkalis, oils, water and other solvents.
- Electrical – Mica is exclusive in it's electrical properties. It has enormous dielectric power, capacitance stability, uniform dielectric steadiness, lower power loss, high Q factor, low temperature coefficient and high electrical resistance.
- Thermal – Mica is incombustible, infusible, non flammable and fire proof. It can resist a high degrees of temperature up to 1000° Celsius.
- Mechanical – Mica had high tensile strength, tough, flexible and elastic.
